Worth a look. www.modeltalker.com where you can download a util, record several hours of your own speech, and then upload to the site where they crunch it and create a human phoneme-based SAPI5 synth for you.

Ideal for anyone who is losing their speech, or who has someone they would like to base a synth on. Why not make a synth of your own voice.

Posted by a colleague who has tried this with their own voice:

"Has anyone had a go with this? I was having a few problems - I thought I had a great microphone, it works well with VR, but it took me ages to get through calibration with this .., it tells me I’m too ‘noisy’ so had to do that bit with a muted microphone... the ‘PA PA PA’s’ were impossible every time and I had to give up and get through it by doing a manual calibration, so I guess it’s a bit fussy !! If anyone has any tips that would be great..but the calibration bit keeps popping up every so often so a way of getting through it more easily would be great.

But I have managed to get through the sentences ( very strange subject matter...) by just constantly clicking and re –recording until it finally seemed to give in, again any tips on getting through it a bit more smoothly would be great ....maybe it’s just practise and technique...

But i’ve uploaded and am just awaiting the review back.

So far so good..
